Morphology of Cellulose Acetate Microbeads prepared by Emulsion Solvent Evaporation Method using Various Devices |
초록 |
Microbeads are synthetic plastic polymer beads having greater than 0.1 μm and less than 5 mm in size. Plastic microbeads are manufactured for use in personal care products (scrubs, bath products, facial cleaners, toothpastes). According to the microbeads study, Microbeads products will likely be released into the ocean environment after wastewater treatment. Cellulose acetate (CA) are biodegradable and hydrophilic nature owing to residual hydroxyl group. Especially, these materials can act as a good candidate labels for ocean environment. In this study, CA microbeads were prepared by the emulsion solvent evaporation method using various devices such as homogenizer and homomixer. In order to find the optimized conditions, the effect of formulation variables on size and size distribution were investigated by controlling of processing parameters such as stabilizer concentration, co-solvent ratio, mixing speed and time. |
