Nerve gases are one of the most important and fatal classed of chemical warfare agents. Nerve gas are extreamly dangerous and their high toxicity and ease of production underscore the need to detect these fatal chemicals via quick and reliable procedures. Recently, many detection methods for nerve gases have been studied based on fluorogenic, colormetric and enzymatic methods. For detection of nerve gas, we synthesized conjugated polyquinoxaline. Furthemore, we attempted diversely to detect nerve gas using polyquinoxaline in solution and embedded in paper and nanofiber. Polyquinoxaline detected diethylchlorophosphate (DCP), an available but less toxic mimic for the nerve gas. Upon exposure of DCP, fluorescence of polyquinoxaline would be quenched via energy transfer. |
