The fixation of CO2 to polymeric materials is one of the most valuable researches in the 21st century, considering CO2 caused environment issues. CO2 is an ideal synthetic feedstock since it is abundant and inexpensive. Accordingly increasing attention has been paid to the investigation of the efficient catalysts for the copolymerization of CO2 and epoxides, resulting in aliphatic polycarbonates. In this study, the exploitation of new zinc-based heterogeneous catalysts is investigated for the copolymerization of polycarbonates. The influence of the temperature on the yield, carbonate content, molecular weight is discussed. The resultant copolymers are subjected to NMR spectrum, infrared spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography analyses |
