A Facile Strategy to Fabricate Multifunctional Polymer Nanoparticles through Reactive Platforms Based on Poly(PentaFluoroPhenylMethacrylate) |

Ever since the interest in functional polymer nanoparticles has recently been increased, requirements on those nanoparticles become more stringent for applications in various areas. While polymer nanoparticles with different structure and properties have been reported, tedious synthesis and post-polymerization modifications were often required to realize polymer nanoparticles with desired functionalities. Herein, we report the use of poly(pentafluorophenylmethacrylate) as a platform to prepare functional polymer nanoparticles through a simple substitution-nanoprecipitation approach. Coumarin was employed to enable fluorescence as well as structural stability into the platform, so that the platform was able to maintain its structure even after further modification of remaining reactive ester groups tailored for specific applications. The size, morphology, and photochemical properties will be discussed |
