A new series of polymer (PC-DT-DFQx, PC-DT-FQx, PC-DT-Qx) were designed and synthesized for applying bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) type solar cells. These donor-acceptor type copolymer solar cells based on quinoxaline as electron poor unit and carbazole as electron rich unit were designed to look into the impact of fluoro group. In attempt to achieve deeper highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels, Fluorine atom, which have strong electron-withdrawing effect, was introduced in quinoxaline. Resultingly, the electrochemical properties of the polymers displayed HOMO levels of -5.44,-5.48 and -5.58 eV and the LUMO levels of -2.94, -2.97 and -3.30 eV, respectively. Among the Polymer, highest value of 5.06% power conversion efficiency (PCE) and value of 0.85 V open-circuit voltage (Voc) was shown in the polymer PC-DT-DFQx |
