Cellulose fibers had been widely used in many areas of various different applications from IT to biomedical industries. Using the technique of coaxial electrospinning, composite fibers of ethyl cellulose with cellulose nanocrystal in its smectic phase as a core material could be produced. Blocked fibers of ethyl cellulose and polyvinylidene fluoride were obtained through double coaxial electrospinning technique. Based on this technique, we have made fibers having an amphiphilic property. Differences of flow rate ratio, type of solvent, applied voltage produced appeared different structures. Micrometer and submicrometer cellulose fiber assemblies were obtained which were reinforced with cellulose nanocrystals and characterized by optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). It was determined that the physical and chemical properties for the cellulose composites are superior to the controls. |
