제목 | Control of Release and Internal Rearrangement within Layer-by-Layer(LbL) Assembled Multilayer Thin Films |
초록 | The control ofrelease and internal rearrangement of active materials incorporated into the LbL assembled multilayer thinfilms is important for many potential applications such as drug delivery systems, biosensors,and so forth. In present study, we have studied the release and internal rearrangement behavior within LbL films consisting of linear poly(ethylene imine) (LPEI) andpoly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) and poly (sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS). The changes in internal structure, film thickness, surface morphology, and the release kinetics ofthe LbLmultilayer films have been systematicallyinvestigated in different post treatment conditions. We demonstrate that the LbL multilayer films consisting of LPEI and a weak polyelectrolyte, PMAA, are easily delaminated in acidic aqueous solution. On the other hand, in the case of multilayers with LPEI and a strong polyelectrolyte, PSS, the film structure remains intact under acidic condition. We also prepared blend multilayer films, [LPEI/(PMAAx:PSS1-x)] to confirm that the release kinetics could be controlled by the relative composition ratio between PSS and PMAA. |
