The demand for on-chip power source in a range of form factor drives considerable efforts on high-performance, flexible miniature energy storage. Micro-supercapacitors affords high power capability due to fast ion kinetic during charging/discharging. In this regard, the development of mechanically robust micro-supercapacitors is important as they have potential for wearable and flexible energy storage systems. Here, we report new and facile methods for fabricating flexible and/or even wearable micro-supercapacitors based on the combination of carbon nanomaterials and polymer (or hydrogel). The resulting micro-supercapacitors exhibits superior flexibility, rate performance, reliable high power output, and long cycle life under deformation (bending) and repeated charging-discharging, which are attributed to excellent mechanical and electrochemical properties of the devices. |
