Fluorinated polymers exhibit a number of interesting properties such as low water adsorption, excellent weatherability, resistance to oxidation and solvent, low flammability, and low surface free energy. In this study, we report surface property of fluorinated polymer such as polyvinylidene fluoride, poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) and poly(vinylidene fluoride-ter-hexafluoropropylene-ter-perfluoropropyl vinyl ether). Polymers were prepared by solution radical polymerization using initiator diisopropylperoxydicarbonate in 1,1,2-trichlorotrifluoroethane. To observe surface morphology and contact angle of thin film, spin-coated films on slide glass were crystallized by slow cooling from 200 ℃. Compared to the corresponding PVDF film, copolymer and terpolymer film were observed morphology of typical amorphous phase. Furthermore, the film of terpolymer with perfluoropropyl vinyl ether were observed high contact angle, relatively. |
