Since graphene nanosheets(GNS) were first reported, many way to prepare high quality graphene were studied and bing developed up to now.However, most of the methods are complex and resulted in the defects of GNS and application of GNS is limted in various fields. herein, we studied highly exfoliated and cost effective graphene(HEG) by simple method. The graphite was exfoliated with cationic surfactant in water by sonication, and then washed with alkali solution. during washing, small amount of a polyol,poly(tetra hydrofuran),was added to prevent restacking of exfoliated graphene.The HEG/polyol mixture was applied to the polyurethane nanocomposite based on 4,4’-diphenylmethane diisoctanate(MDI) and butandiol(BD). The HEG/polyurethane nanocomposite showed highly enhanced mechanical properties at low concentration (0.1% by wt). it is postulated that the nanocomposites of polyurethane and HEG could be prepared with GNS of low defect from the surfactant assisted exfoliation of graphite. |
