Adhesion in water is very challenging technology due to the glue interacted to water instead of other reactive functional sites of glue or attachment surface. Many reactive glues need curing time or external stimuli to achieve the acceptable adhesive properties. In this study, we report physically cross-linked sticky material prepared by hydrogen bond interaction between polyvinyl alcohol and polyphenolic compound. This material maintains sticky property in underwater conditions. Moreover, this material could attach instantly without any curing time or external stimuli. The underwater tensile strength of this material shows over 70kpa shortly after adhesion. Furthermore, it is able to rework, repeat attaching and detaching, in order to there is no curing induced state transition. |
