Developing durable and efficient nanocatalysts is essential to satisfy the demand for the future energy conservation and storage requirements for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) process. Nanoonions are spherical and amorphous carbon materials mainly with sp2 bonds that are produced by pyrolyzing nanodiamonds. Nanoonions oxidized by the Hummers method possesses chemically modifiable functional groups that make complexes with Gold nanorod, forming nanocomposites. Nanoonion/gold nanorod (NOAuNR) composites were investigated for highly efficient and economical nanocatalysts, optimizing ORR activity. The physicochemical properties of Nanoonion/gold nanorod nanocomposites were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, field-emission transmission electron microscope. Moreover, the ORR activity of NOAuNR was evaluated by LSV curve and the number of active sites. |
