polymer actuators, that respond to various stimuli like mechanical, pH, chemical and heat, have been studied substantially in many fields such as robotics, artificial skins, micro sensors, biomedicines and drug delivery system. Especially, as one of the materials for polymer actuators, hydrogel have received a great deal of attention because of their good stimuli-responsibility and biocompatibility. Although, many variables have been investigated, light is a particularly attractive stimulus used for controlling biomaterial behavior because its intensity and wavelength can be easily controlled. In this study, we prepared thermally responsive hydrogels containing photothermal materials, gold nanorod(AuNR). The swelling-deswelling behavior and bending properties of hydrogel with bilayer structure were investigated. |
