제목 Fabrication of antibacterial curcumin-loaded zein nanofibers via electrospining
초록 Curcumin is a natural compound, which has multi biological properties, was loaded in zein nanofibers by electrospinning process. The curcumin loaded electrospun fibers showed an antibacterial property, which was improved by combination of emulsifier, Tween 80, with hydrophobic curcumin in the zein nanofibers. The morphology of curcumin-loaded zein nanofibers was observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy. Study on the release behavior of curcumin from zein nanofibers indicated that the presence of Tween 80 leads to a higher release of curcumin from curcumin-loaded zein fibers. Antibacterial activities of curcumin-loaded zein electrospun fibers against Staphylococus aureus (S.aureus) was explored by the optical density method. At 10 wt% surfactant content and 1.6 wt% curcumin loading, curcumin-loaded zein fibers showed high efficiency for S.aureus inhibition (83%) after 21 hour.
