제목 Carbon Monoxide/Hydrogen separation using Polyamide membranes
초록 This study focuses on the separation of Carbon Monoxide from Hydrogen. These gases are the end product of the gasification of municipality waste. The separation is conducted using polyamide membrane system. The parameters selected for the study were pressure, temperature and mass flow. The input pressure selected are 4, 5, 6 and 7 bars with a stage cut of 50, 70 and 85%. The effect of temperature in the separation was studied at various mass flow ranges (100-600 ml/min). Carbon Monoxide is the major product which is targeted at a purity level of 99%. Although, the membrane system will have to be multistage, the CO purity has been achieved in a range of 70-80% from the first stage. The gas composition was analyzed using GC with Molecular Sieve 5A support and Argon as carrier gas.
