제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(2-cyano-1,4-phenylene terephthalamide) and Its Copolymers Containing Hydroquinone Moiety by Phosphorylation reaction
초록 Poly(2-cyano-1,4-phenylene terephthalamide) (cyPPTA) and its copolymers containing different hydroquinone moiety contents were synthesized by adopting phosphorylation-based polycondensation of 2-cyano-1,4-phenylenediamine (cyPPD), terephthalic acid (TPA), and hydroquinone (HQ) in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone/calcium chloride solvent system in the presence of triphenyl phosphite and pyridine catalysts. The inherent viscosity and viscosity-average molecular weight cyPPTAs and its copolymers were evaluated by using solution viscometry and Mark-Houwink equation. The molecular structure and copolymer composition of the copolymers were confirmed by using FT-IR spectroscopy and 1H NMR spectroscopy, respectively. The liquid crystalline structures of the polymerization solutions were characterized by using a polarized optical microscope. Furthermore, we demonstrated the application of the polymerization solutions for spinning dopes to manufacture technical aramid fibers.
