Carboxyl terminated poly (butadiene-co-acrynonitrile) (CTBN) is popular as an impact modifier of epoxy resin. CTBN modified epoxy resins are widely used in adhesives, coatings, and encapsulations for electronic devices. However, viscosity of the rubber modified epoxy resins is relatively high and reactive diluents are necessary for the coating. As diluents of CTBN modified epoxy resins, difunctional reactive diluent of aliphatic glycidyl ether and glycidyl methacrylate were (GMA) were investigated. In order to prepare transparent tough hybrids of CTBN and epoxy resins, curing of epoxy resins with tetrahydrophthalic anhydride as well as crosslinking of CTBN and GMA by dicumyl peroxide were carried out concurrently. Transparent tough hybrid films could be obtained from of epoxy resin, CTBN, GMA, and aliphatic glycidyl ether diluent. |
