Enzyme and visible wireless biosensor based TiO2/Cu2+ carbon dots for cancer targeting and antifouling behaviour |

An enzyme and visible light responsive carbon dot coated substrate based carbonized hyaluronic acid was utilized as a biosensor for cancer detection and cell detachment. Due to the difference between intracellular PPi and ALP level in cancer and normal cells, the electronic resistance of detached cell-cultured biosensors was changed. Visible light responsive behavior of TiO2 in the carbon dots promoted cell detachment on the carbon dot coated biosensors which was applied for cancer detection depending on antifouling time. The cellular uptake was enhanced during visible irradiation because of the cleavage of Cu2+ by PPi and CD44-mediated internalization that increased the resistance of the cancer cell-cultured biosensor compared to the normal one. With high electro sensitivity and accuracy in sensing in response to intracellular enzyme, the biosensor demonstrated a potential approach for cancer detection.
