제목 Identification of iron oxides on manganese oxides and their effects for hydrogen peroxide decomposition
초록 Fe(II) and manganese oxides with various oxidation state were reacted with Ca(OH)2. XRD analysis indicatedmaghemite (γ-Fe2O3, ID 39-1346) on MnO, magnetite(Fe3O4, ID 01-1111) on MnO2, and hematite (α-Fe2O3, ID 03-0812) on Mn2O3.Moreover, lime (CaO, ID 03-1123) was also observed on Mn2O3. However, Mn-Fe complex like jacobsite wasnotdetected. To assess those catalysts, decomposition of hydrogen peroxide at pH 7 was conducted. The higher rate constants were earned with Mn2O3 independent on the synthesis methods, and the highest rate constant was 0.030 min-1 when NaOH was used instead of Ca(OH)2. In the future, degradation of organic contaminants at various pHs will be investigated in the systems containing oxidants and those synthesized catalysts.
