Poly(alkylene carbonate) such as polyethylene carbonate (PEC) and polypropylene carbonate (PPC) is currently getting a great attention as eco-friendly materials since it is synthesized from carbon dioxide and ethylene oxide / propylene oxide, and they have been proved to be a biodegradable polymers. In this study, The Poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA)/PEC and PLLA/PPC blends with various compositions were prepared by melt compounding process to evaluate their potential application in flexible packaging field. The thermal and thermo-mechanical, barrier (oxygen and water vapor) and rheological properties were investigated. In addition, the morphological observation was also performed to assess the interfacial behavior of the binary blend system. |
