New materials for nano-filtration is required for the fast, practical, durable and efficient method in water purification. Polymer-based membranes are light, economical, and easy-to-process compared to inorganic ones. Here we present our study of the functional active layer coatings for membrane technology. The active layer coating is prepared as micro-blended film of copolymers-hydrophilic homopolymer. We synthesized various amphiphilic copolymers that could create nano-morphological structures in polymer blends. The active layer coating exhibited excellent antifouling effect, which made it more suitable for the separation of biological mixture. We expect this coating system can be applied to various micro-separation technology. |
