Microfluidic Chip-based 3-Dimensional Hydrogel Constructs for Biomedical Application |

Recently, the combination of microtechnology and biomaterial has extended their capabilities to the biomedical engineering fields. The microfluidic chip has enabled the generation of micro-scaled and 3-dimensional constructs including cells and bioactive substances. We have developed microfluidic-based 3D constructs such as solid, hollow, core-shell structured microfibers and beads using cell compatible hydrogels. Here, we propose microtechnology-based approach for the generation of 3D hydrogel constructs that satisfy the requirement to the native tissue, which could be contributed to the advance of regenerative medicine and biomedical application. |
