Point-of-care treatments can be achieved by wearable devices by non-invasive monitoring of physical sensing and biomedical information. Careful and continuous monitoring and control of glucose level is essential for diabetes patients. However, conventional measurement of blood glucose level is inconvenient and non-continuous. Wearable sweat-based glucose sensor enables real-time and continuous sensing of glucose concentrations. Here, we present sweat-based glucose sensors and thermo-responsive microneedles for diabetes mellitus. Feedback therapy with microneedles can control the blood glucose level in normal range, as monitoring with glucose sensors. Integration of wearable glucose sensors and microneedles make a closed-loop system of treatment of diabetes mellitus. |
