제목 UV-PUD Nanocomposite with VTMS Modified Clay
초록 Much attention has recently been paid to improve thermal and mechanical properties of organic polymers by incorporating with nano-size inorganic materials. In this work, the nano-size clays were modified with VTMS(vinyltrimethoxysilane) and subsequently UV cured to synthesize the polyurethane-clay nanocomposite. We confirmed the modification of the clay with VTMS by ATR-IR, TGA, XRD, and H NMR, and studied the influence of the modification of clay with VTMS, the content of clay on the properties of UV-PUD. It was found that mechanical and thermal properties were improved with VTMS modified clay because they played a role as a filler and crossliking agent, and they served good dispersion as a molecular scale because of their good compatibility with polymer matrix.
