Mechanical Properties of Carbon fibers-reinforced NBR Composites: Effects of Fiber Length and Surface Treatment |
초록 |
The composites based on short carbon fibers (as-received and surface treated) reinforced nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) matrix using three different fiber lengths (3mm, 6mm, and 12 mm length) were prepared using internal mixer and compression molding technique. The surface properties of the carbon fibers before and after surface treatment were characterized by XPS, FT-IR, and surface tensionmeter. The mechanical behaviors of the composites were examined using tensile and compressive tests. The fracture surfaces of composites were investigated by SEM analysis.
