제목 Biomimetic surface modification of poly (L-lactide-co-ε-caprolatone) with gelatin using 60Co γ-ray irradiation
초록 The overall goal of this study is to develop an elastic biomimetic substrate that is capable of eliciting cellular response for tissue engineering. Gelatin was covalently coupled to poly (acrylic acid) (PAAc) that was grafted on the surface of poly (L-lactide-co-ε-caprolatone) (PLCL) films using 60Co γ-ray irradiation. The properties of PLCL, PLCL-AAc, and PLCL-AAc-gelatin films were investigated by ATR, ESCA, and Instron. To examine cellular response to the gelatin-grafted film, NIH3T3 cells were cultured on each film, showing that significant increase in attachment on the gelatin-grafted film than PLCL film. Cells on the gelatin-grafted film spread to all directions while cells on the others did not spread, maintaining circular shape after fluorescent staining. These results indicate that the surface modification using γ-ray is a novel technique to make biomimetic material directing desirable cellular responses, which may provide a powerful source for designing scaffolds.
