제목 | Development of Al88Ni1Y10M1 (M=B, Ce, Co, Nb, Sm) amorphous alloys containing nano-sized fcc-Al particles |
초록 | Aluminum-based amorphous alloys have attracted much attention due to lightweight alloys with superior mechanical and corrosion properties, but have never been achieved in bulk form. Numerous rapidly solidified Al-based amorphous alloys with high strength and good ductility have been reported in the Al/lanthanide/transition metal system. One such alloy having promising properties is the Al-Ni-Y system. The presence of nano-sized particles in the amorphous matrix can improve the properties of the materials such as magnetic properties, mechanical properties. In this work, mechanical properties of Al88Ni1Y10M1 (M=B, Ce, Co, Nb, Sm) amorphous alloys containing nano-sized fcc-Al particles have been investigated. Rapidly solidified ribbons have been prepared by melt-spinning process. Characterization of the melt spun alloys was carried out through a combination of SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy: SEM), XRD (X-ray diffractometry: XRD) and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry: DSC). From SEM, XRD, DSC data, fully amorphous phase can be obtained in Al88Ni1Y10Co1 and Al88Ni1Y10B1 alloy. Composite of amorphous phase matrix and nano-crystalline phases is found in Al88Ni1Y10Nb1, Al88Ni1Y10Ce1 alloy. Finally, fully crystal phase of α–Al, Al3Y is found in Al88Ni1Y10Sm1 alloy. The nano-indentation was performed for mechanical properties. The mechanical properties are changed by additional elements. |
