The use of carboxy-functionalized fullerenes for biological studies revealed many interesting properties, however, only few such derivatives of fullerene are available. In this study, 11-aminoundecanoyl fullererols have been synthesized in an one-pot reaction by nucleophilic addition of the 11-aminoundecanic anion to C60. Characterization of the novel products was preformed by infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopic images, thermogravimetric analysis, and X-ray diffraction. The investigation of the pH sensitivity revealed that they are a novel kind of pH sensitive materials. |
