Sonified Interaction Effects on Direct Self-Assembly of π-Conjugated Polymers in Solutions |
초록 |
Self-assembly of π-conjugated polymers has been extensively studied to achieve organic devices. In general, an ultrasonication is useful to disperse polymeric solutes in solvents. However, organic semiconducting molecules with strong π-π interactions tend to be agglomerated together in a marginal solvent. Here, 1D semiconducting nanowires were fabricated using direct self-assembly of conjugated polymers in a marginal solvent. Controlling ultrasonication parameters such as power and time, 1D crystalline forms of P3HT in dilute solutions could be controlled from amorphous-like to nanofibrils. P3HT films were spun-cast on gate dielectrics from the sonified solutions. Electrical properties of the cast P3HT films were characterized and correlated with the corresponding crystal structures. It was found that the simple ultrasonication for the dilute P3HT solutions was drastically improved the intermolecular π-overlap of P3HT, producing high-performance OFETs without any further treatment. |
