제목 | Scaling concept in the thermogelling biodegradable poloxamer aqueous solution |
초록 | In search for the injectable in-situ gel forming aqueous system, N-isopropyl acryl amide copolymers, poloxamers, Smart Gel®, PEG/PLGA copolymer systems, chitosan/glycerol phosphate, polyphosphazene, etc. have been reported. Above systems are proven to be promising for drug delivery, 3-dimensional cell culture, and tissue engineering applications. However, as a clinically inactive ingredient, the incorporation of smaller amount is desirable, and biodegradability is required for parental use. Poloxamer aqueous solutions show sol-to-gel transition as the temperature increases. The critical gel concentration (CGC) and gel modulus can be improved by increasing the molecular weight of poloxamers. However, the nonbiodgradability of poloxamers and their derivatives (Smart Gel®), poloxamer-g-poly(acrylic acid), might be a concern. CGC of Smart Gel® decreases 1/10 times of poloxamers due to its high molecular weight, but it is nonbioderadable. Based on this observation, the poloxamers were coupled by degradable moieties, and the gelation properties and micellar properties of the degradable poloxamers were investigated based on the scaling concept. |
