In this study, monodisperse silica hollow particles were simply fabricated. Monodisperse PVAm hollow particles were prepared as template. Then, the hollow particles were efficiently coated by silica using sol-gel method. Various particles were produced through changing the amount of catalyst (NH4OH) or tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). Finally, silica hollow particles were obtained after calcinations of PVAm/silica composite hollow particles. Morphology of the particles was confirmed through scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The presence of silica on the surface of hybrid particles and its phase structure were determined by X-ray power diffraction (XRD). Porosity of silica hollow particles was analyzed by BET measurement. |
