PVdF nanofiber mats containing silver nanoparticles were prepared by electrospinning. Diameter of the nanofibers was in the range of 100 to 300 nm. About 0.1 ppm of silver nanoparticle was incorporated into PVdF nanofiber after electrospinning, and silver nanoparticle distribution was observed, with some extent of aggregation. The elasticity and higher mechanical strength of the PVdF nanofiber mat was better than that of PVdF film. PVdF nanofiber mat containing silver nanoparticles showed a good antibacterial activity from 95% to 99.5% according to different silver content, compared with about 83% of PVdF nanofiber only. |
