Dimethyl 5-sulfoisophthalate sodium salt(DMSIP), diethylene glycol(DEG), maleic anhydride(MAn) were synthesized by a two-step melt condensation for application of ion exchange membrane. Ion exchange membrane was prepared using synthesized ionomer and pentaerythritol tetraacrylate(PETA) with UV curing. The molecular weight of synthesized ionomer was measured by GPC. The chemical structures of the membranes were characterized by their FT-IR, 1H-NMR spectra, and the basic membrane properties such as ion exchange capacity(IEC), water uptake, proton conductivity and cyclic voltammetry(CV) were measured for the prepared ion exchange membranes. |
