제목 | Application of Conducting Polymer Nanomaterials |
초록 | While metallic and inorganic nanoparticles with dimensions of around 1 nm are routinely made, polymer nanoparticles with dimension less than 10 nm have not been reported. Here we demonstrate the selective fabrication of conducting polypyrrole (PPy) nanoparticles as small as 2 nm in diameter as well as polyaniline nanomaterials using microemulsion polymerization at low temperature. The amorphous PPy nanoparticles can be transformed into graphite ultrafine graphite particles through carbonization. When the PPy nanoparticles were carbonized above 750℃, the conductivity became higher than that of the pristine PPy nanoparticle owing to the graphitic materials. The average particle size was 1.8 nm (±0.4 nm) and fairly monodisperse. In addition, conducting polymer nanofiber, core/shell nanomaterials and hollow nanospheres were also fabricated by a surfactant-mediated methodology. Using these polymer nanomaterials, some applications will be presented for fusion technoloy of NT/IT and NT/ET etc. This low temperature microemulsion polymerization may provide a facile way to synthesize new polymer nanoparticles, and might be expanded to allow the fabrication of ultrafine metallic and inorganic particles, which embraces the concept of "nanoreactors". |
