Self-healing property is a valuable character for various applications due to its durable and safe nature, which leads to increased lifetime and long lasting performance. However, mobility of molecules is prerequisite for this property, which can be a reason for mechanical failure. Here, based on the reversible photo cross-linkable properties, self-healing polymer with adjustable surface hardness has been designed and synthesized. By simple UV irradiation and thermal treatment, a complete healing behaviour and change of the surface hardness was observed. |
