Fabrication of pH-sensitive polymersome using mPEG-PCL grafted poly(β-amino ester) |

Polymersomes have attracted particular interest as candidate materials for biomedical applications. There are several kinds of method to make a polymersome. Direct hydration is normally limited to polymers with relatively high chain flexibility and becomes kinetically impossible for glassy and crystalline copolymers. And polymersomes from such polymers can be prepared by oil-in-water and water-in-oil-in-water technique. The drawback of any organic solvent based technique is that residual organic solvent can induce biological toxicity and reduce the colloidal stability. Herein we report synthesis of methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(ε-carprolactone) grafted poly(β-amino ester) and fabrication of polymersomes by just adjusting pH of the polymer solution to pH 7.4 without any organic solvents. After preparation, polymersomes were observed by TEM. We respect this synthetic polymer and fabrication method can apply to water soluble biomedically active materials as drug delivery carrier. |
