A simple protocol is demonstrated here to prepare polymer film with honeycomb structures. This simple method relies on the formation of “breath figure” and the assembly of a polymer around them, resulting in the production of membranes with hexagonally arranged pores known as honeycomb structured porous polymer film. The regularity of the hexagonal array and the pore size was influenced by the polymer architecture and the casting conditions. The honeycomb pattern is formed by solvent evaporation under the high humidity, and their pore size is tunable by controlling the conditions, such as air speed, type of solvent, polymer concentration and casting area. In addition the humidity, temperature and thickness of prepared polymer solution exhibit great importance in the formation of the uniform honeycomb structure on film surface. Obtained polymer film with honeycomb structure is supported by Optical Microscope (OM) and SEM (or FE-SEM) and Raman (AFM) Measurements. |
