Fully crosslinked stable poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) microspheres were prepared by the precipitation polymerization using mixture of acetone and methanol as the media. The solubility parameters, viscosity and polarity of the mixed media varied upon the proportion of acetone to methanol. Thus, the effects of solubility parameter, polarity and viscosity of media on the particle size and stability parameter were investigated and the optimum boundary for the formation of spherical particles is found. |
