Synthesis and Photovoltaic Properties of A-D-A Small Molecule Donor based on Benzodithiophene with Phenylisoxazolone |

An acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) type small molecule, named BDT-HTOX, containing benzodithiophene (BDT) and phenylisoxazolone (OX) is to investigate the effect of combination between the strong electron donating and electron withdrawing units. Furthermore, hexylthiophene (HT) ring as a Π-bridge are inserted to increase the conjugation length and the solubility. Herein, we examine the photovoltaic property of BDT-HTOX applying as the donor with PC71BM in the organic solar cells (OSCs). The optoelectronic properties of BDT-HTOX are well matched with PC71BM indicating good potential for electron donor. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of device based on chlorobenzene as a solvent is reached up to 0.80%. |
