제목 g-CN Treated by Sulfuric Acid as a Precursor to Synthesize Efficient g-CN for Hydrogen Evolution from Water under Visible Light
초록  The photocatalytic activity of graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) is yet poor owing to wide bandgap and rapid recombination of photoexcited charge carriers. To mitigate these, we develop BCN-SA-CN using oxygen containing triazines as a precursor for thermal polycondensation. The precursor was prepared from bulk g-CN treated with high-concentrated sulfuric acid. It is demonstrated that the resulting BCN-SA-CN has increased carbon and oxygen contents. In addition, this g-CN shows decreased bandgap (2.59 eV) than BCN (2.84 eV). As a result, BCN-SA-CN exhibits photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction rate of 4.57 μmol/h under visible light (>420 nm) by almost two times higher than that (2.37 μmol/h) of bulk g-CN due to the localization of photoexcited charge carriers by C, O co-doping. This study highlights sulfuric-acid treatment of g-CN can be an efficient way to prepare the higher monomeric precursor for g-CN with enhanced photocatalytic activity.
