제목 Universal Phase Transition in Reaction Event Counting Statistics of Enzyme with Slow Conformational Dynamics: Novel Experimental Measure of Heterogeneity and Relaxation Time of Molecular Reactivity
초록 Reactivity fluctuations of biomolecules are ubiquitous, and their effects on a series of molecular reaction times become observable with the recent advance of single molecule experimental techniques. The emergent challenge in this field is to extract meaningful information from the fluctuating reaction time series of single molecule systems. While a few research efforts have been directed toward quantitative interpretation of statistical distribution of individual reaction times of single enzyme systems, the significance of reaction event counting statistics as a valuable experimental observable is yet to be recognized for biological reaction systems. In this talk, we report a universal phase transition in reaction event number fluctuation of a single biomolecule, which directly provides magnitude of heterogeneous reactivity and the time scale of conformational relaxation of biomolecules.
