Poly(L-lactide–b-glycidyl methacrylate) (PLLA-b-PGMA), Poly(L-lactide–b-methyl methacrylate) (PLLA-b-PMMA) were synthesized by the combination of ring-opening polymerization (ROP) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). PLA–b-acrylate copolymer were synthesized by 0.015mmol of PLA-Br, 0.08mmol catalyst (CuCl) and 0.024mmol ligand (2,2'-bipyfidine) and 4mmol acrylate monomer. Its number average molecular weight (Mn) were about 97,000 g/mol (PLA-b-PGMA) and 113,000 g/mol (PLA-b-PMMA), respectively. The copolymer composition were determined by 1H NMR, FT-IR analysis. According to TGA, carbonaceous residue values of PLA-b-PGMA, PLA-b-PMMA were found to be 9.1 and 19.5%, respectively, at 400℃. In this study, (PLA–b-PGMA), (PLA-b-PMMA) with an improved thermal properties was synthesized for packaging and construction materials. |
