Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are attractive carbon materials that are of growing research interests due to their obvious advantages, such as biocompatibility and excellent optoelectrical performance that are hardly attainable in the case of their counterparts, inorganic quantum dots (QDs). By including selenium elements in CQDs, it is possible to provide enhanced optical performance and anti-oxidant ability to the resulting selenium-doped CQDs (Se-CQDs). In this study, Se-CQDs, which exhibits aqueous dispersion stability, was simply synthesized by microwave treatment of the A3/B2 monomer set. The reactive oxygen scavenging (ROS) performance of Se-CQDs has been confirmed by electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy, which is expected to be used as anti-oxidant in bio-application. Therefore, Se-CQDs can be successfully applied for various applications such as diagnosis and treatment of various harmful oxidants in physiological environments. 2019년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음. |
