제목 | Robust superhydrophobic silica/epoxy coating for solar-cell panels |
초록 | Self-cleaning property has been utilized for various applications such as solar-energy panels, smart devices, and anti-fogging. Various methods such as imprinting, photolithography and dual-scale SiO2 have been applied to achieve self-cleaning property, but these methods have exhibited poor mechanical hardness of the coating films. Recently, silica/epoxy composites have been used to improve mechanical hardness of the coating. However, it has been very difficult to achieve both the high transparency and high mechanical hardness in the superhydrophobic silica/epoxy coating films. In this study, superhydrophobic silica/epoxy coating films were designed to obtain transparency, robust self-cleaning coating films. Hexadecyltrimethoxysilane (HDTMS)-modified silica nanoparticles were prepared by sol-gel method. Hydrophobic silica to epoxy weigh ratio can be a decisive factor for high surface roughness, mechanical hardness, and transparency. |
