Bridged polysilsesquioxanes are hybrid organic-inorganic materials derived from sol-gel processing of monomers containing a variable organic bridging group and two or more trialkoxysilyl groups. The organic group, covalently bonded to the trialkoxysilyl group, can be varied in composition, rigidity, and functionalization. BPS have proven to be efficient candidates for applications in optical devices, high-capacity, absorbents, and proton-conducting media for fuel cell. Palladium nanoparticles are of interest due to their unique physical, making them of importance in many technical applications. In this study, palladium nanoparticle with a cubic silsesquioxane(Pd-POSS) and BPS were prepared and the hybrid nanocomposite of Pd-POSS and BPS were fabricated by ionic interactions between positively charged Pd-POSS and negatively charged BPS. The composition, structure and surface morphology of the hybrid materials were characterized by various analytical tools. |
