제목 Kinetics and Mechanism of Oxidation of S-Phenylmercaptoacetic Acid by Various Oxidants
초록 The kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of S-Phenylmercaptoacetic acid by three different oxidants, two metal oxidants and one N-halo compound will de discussed thoroughly. The S-Phenylmercaptoacetic acid is having a reactive sulfur atom, but this atom is insulated from the acid group by -CH2- group. Hence it is a unique system. The various effects like effect of substrate, effect of oxidant, effect of ionic strength, temperature effect on each reaction will be explained clearly. The thermodynamic parameters like ΔS and ΔH will be calculated from Eyring’s plot. A vivid picture would be given on getting a suitable mechanism in consonance with the observed facts.
