제목 | Synthesis of Poly(trimethylene terephthalate) Based on a TPA Process |
초록 | The synthesis of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT), whose application is being expanded very rapidly to new apparel and carpet materials, was investigated by melt condensation polymerization using 1,3-propanediol(PDO) and terephthalic acid(TPA). No catalyst was used in the 1st step reaction(esterification), but tetrabutyl titanate was used in the range of 25 to 125 ppm as a polyesterification catalyst in the 2nd step reaction(polyesterification). The molar ratio of PDO to TPA was set as 2.2:1. The 1st step reaction was carried out in the presence of 25-200ppm of triphenylphosphate as a thermal stabilizer with continuous removal of water as a by-product at 260℃ for about 3.5 hr under the pressure of 2-5kg/cm2 until more than 95% of theoretical amount of water removed is reached. And, after polyesterfication catalyst was added, the 2nd step reaction was continued under the vacuum(ca. less than 0.5Torr) at 260-265℃ for additional 4 hr with continuous removal of PDO. These polymer products showed the intrinsic viscosity of 0.8 to 1 depending on the reaction conditions. The effect of reaction conditions on the color of the final product has also been investigated. 이 연구는 산업기술개발사업(PTT 섬유제조와 응용기술개발)의 HUVIS 위탁연구로 행하여졌음을 알립니다. |
