Amphiphilic block copolymers, especially containing stimuli-sensitive segment, have been considered as potential candidate for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications such as drug carriers and imaging agents. Among various hydrophilic, stimuli-sensitive and hydrophobic segments, hydrophilic polymers of PNIPAAm and PEG, and hydrophobic PCL have unique characteristics such as thermosensitivity, biocompatibility, and biodegradation. In this research, thermosensitive biodegradable amphiphilic linear triblock copolymers, consisting PEG, PNIPAAm, and PCL block, were synthesized by various polymerization and coupling methods such as ring-opening polymerization, chain-transfer radical polymerization, and DCC/DMAP mediated esterification. Then, the physicochemical properties of the triblock copolymer self-aggregates, formed by diafiltration method, were investigated by 1H NMR, DSC, DLS and fluorescence spectroscopy. |
