제목 Microwave-assisted Hydrolysis of tert-Butyl esters by Silica gel under Solvent-free Conditions
초록 tert-Butyl esters are commonly used in the synthesis of peptides, alkaloids and other natural products and substrates of medicinal interest. Removal of t-butyl esters often involves the use of strong protic acids such as trifluoroacetic acid and hydrochloric acid, or Lewis acid such as zinc bromide and silyl triflates. These vigorous conditions can often lead to unwanted side reactions and decomposition of sensitive substrates. Herein we report a microwave-assisted hydrolysis method using silica gel as an efficient reagent for the cleavage of t-butyl esters without solvents. These mild cleavage conditions broadens the synthetic applications in which protected carboxylates can be utilized.
