제목 Carbon capture by biomass derived porous carbons
초록 Meso- and microporous carbons have been prepared using biomass by heat treatment under N2 atmosphere. Prepared carbons were further activated by heat treatment under ammonia gas atmosphere. The dependence on the surface areas and pore structures of prepared carbon materials were measured and CO2 adsorption capacities of prepared carbons were also investigated. The surface areas of pristine carbons derived from alginic acid were measured as 258.2 m2 g-1 with a pore volume of 0.15 cm3 g-1. However, those values dramatically increased up to 1032.0 m2 g-1 with a pore volume of 0.65 cm3 g-1 after the ammonia activation. The CO2 adsorption capacity of ammonia activated carbon derived from alginic acid increased from 1.48 to 2.20 mmol g-1.
